The new landmark – since 2021
Koserow pier
Take a walk on the new pier in Koserow and let your gaze wander out to the sea and to the fine sandy beach in the heart of the Usedom Baltic Sea coast. The special thing about the pier is its wavelike shape, making it unique on Usedom. The pier is beautifully illuminated in the evening.
Koserow previously had a pier before the Second World War, which was unfortunately destroyed in a storm. It was rebuilt in 1993 and demolished in 2020 due to irreparable damage. But now we have a new landmark in Koserow.
Monument to the heyday of fishing
Koserow salt huts
The Koserow salt huts near the pier, built around 1900, are protected historical monuments. Salt for preserving fish used to be stored in such buildings: wooden barrels were filled with herrings, which were then covered with salt. In 1900 there were 15 salt works in Koserow. The salt huts that still exist today act as a restaurant, a registry office, the “Uns Fischers Arbeitshütt” museum and an outlet for smoked fish, which is traditionally only smoked with beech wood.
One of the oldest churches in Usedom
Fieldstone church
The fieldstone church, built at the end of the thirteenth century, is one of the oldest churches on Usedom on the Baltic Sea coast. Over time, the church has been extended and rebuilt several times. Highlights include the ornate fifteenth-century altar and the seventeenth-century baptismal bowl. On the left side of the sanctuary is the statue of Jesus on the cross, which legend has it was washed onto the shore by the Baltic Sea. The bell of the church was recast in 2011. Services and a Sunday school are held in the church every Sunday and the church opens its doors for various seasonal events in summer.
Strawberries, experiences, excursion destination
Karls Erlebnisdorf
Koserow is home to one of Usedom’s most popular attractions: Karls Erlebnisdorf.
What awaits you there? A manufacturing and shopping experience to do with everything around strawberries, chocolate and more. In addition, there are animals to be marvelled at along with pony rides, a potato sack slide and other attractions for children. Everything is lovingly designed.
Open all year round – summer and winter. Admission for a charge.

Piers on Usedom
The listed Ahlbeck pier is the oldest pier on Usedom and a popular motif for postcards. Green turrets adorn the roof and the picturesque building exudes sophisticated charm in the imperial spa of Ahlbeck.
The covered Kaiser Wilhelm Bridge in Heringsdorf is also worth seeing – at 508 metres it is the longest pier in Usedom. The pyramid-shaped roof of the building at the bridgehead is striking.
You can take boat trips from the Bansin pier.
A special feature of Zinnowitz pier (“Vineta Bridge”) is the diving gondola in which you can “dive” 4.5 metres down to the bottom of the Baltic Sea.
Imperial spas, amber resorts & more
Usedom’s Seaside resorts
Take a stroll through the sunny island’s seaside resorts. In the south are the imperial spas of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf and Bansin with imposing villas from the spa architecture period. Tip: The imperial spas are connected by the longest promenade in Usedom.
Further north are the smaller amber resorts of Ückeritz, Loddin, Koserow and Zempin. These offer an array of natural sights and – if you’re lucky – you can find some amber here.
In the north are the seaside resorts of Zinnowitz, Karlshagen and Trassenheide.
Baltic Sea & Achterwasser
Boat trips on Usedom
The impressions you gain on the water are completely different than on land. So why not get on board: be it on excursion boats along the Baltic coast or on a boat tour on the Achterwasser.
While many boat tours along the Baltic Sea start from the imperial spas, boat trips from the new pier in Koserow are also possible.
Achterwasser boat trips are offered from the Stagnieß harbour in Ückeritz.
Attractions in the interior
Usedom Achterland
Discover what the Usedom Achterland has to offer: buildings from centuries gone by and rural impressions. Windmills from the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries, St. Peter’s Church in Benz, built in the thirteenth century, the moated castle Mellenthin from the sixteenth century, Pudagla Castle and Stolpe Castle near the city of Usedom.
Enjoy the landscape in the Lieper Winkel and Usedomer Winkel and enjoy an excursion to the lakes in what is known as Usedom’s Switzerland.
