Events on Usedom
Culture, sport & experience
Island life on Usedom is enriched by a variety of events – from concerts to sporting occasions for holidaymakers and locals. The main locations are the seaside resorts along the Baltic Sea coast. Varied events also take place on the Kurplatz Koserow, only 400 metres away from the Hanse Kogge, including the performances of “Classics by the Sea”.
Please note that many events cannot take place in the usual way or may be cancelled due to the current coronavirus situation.

Events in Koserow
Dixieland Festival in Koserow
Already a tradition: on a June evening, Koserow’s Kurplatz is steeped in jazzy flair and an atmosphere reminiscent of the southern US states. A range of Dixie bands play at the Dixieland Festival – just a few metres from the sea.
Unfortunately cancelled in 2021.
Summer night concert on the Streckelsberg
Enjoy the sounds of the summer night concerts on the Streckelsberg panoramic mountain nesting in nature and with a view of the Baltic Sea. One evening in each of June and August.
Koserow pier festival
Every year we celebrate the pier festival in Koserow in honour of the Koserow pier on the first weekend in July. The festival programme includes a parade, a market and fireworks over the Baltic Sea.
Dancing the night away by the sea
Rock, disco fox, schlager, silent disco – different styles, but all have one thing in common: they’re an open invitation for you to enjoy a dance on the Kurplatz in Koserow. Weekly on six evenings from mid-July.
Usedom People’s Sport Triathlon in Koserow
A cult event in Koserow: at the end of July triathletes compete in a swim in the Baltic Sea, a cycle on yellow Usedom bikes and a run on the beach. The start is at the Koserow pier. The spectators are always very enthusiastic.
Country festival in Koserow
In mid-August, the wind of the Wild West blows on to the island of Usedom. Country music from the 1950s is celebrated for a weekend at the country festival on Koserow’s Kurplatz. Fancy a line dance? Then why not join the dance party in Koserow.
Classics by the Sea
Classics by the Sea’s productions are among the absolute event highlights in Koserow. In 1999, the Berlin actor and director Jürgen Kern founded the acting ensemble “Klassik am Meer” (Classics by the Sea), which has been setting up its stage and performing in Koserow’s Protestant church every summer since then.
Well-known plays such as “Faust”, “Everyman”, “Galilei”, “Nathan the Wise”, “The Visit” have been staged and well-known actors such as Andreas Schmidt-Schaller, Wolfgang Winkler, Renate Blume, Jürgen Zartmann continue to shape the performances through their art.
As urgent restoration work is pending in the Koserow church, the 2021 performance season will be moved to the Amber Hall of the Hotel Seerose in the neighbouring village of Kölpinsee.
You can find out more about Classics by the Sea and the programme from July to September at www.klassik-am-meer.de.
